The morning begins in the Bree Street precinct, one of the city's most energetic stretches, lined with a high concentration of restaurants and cafes. Start the day with award-winning coffee, followed by an optional breakfast croissant that locals return for week after week. From there, move through Greenmarket Square, a cobblestoned gathering place at the centre of city life for three centuries, down toward the Adderley Street Flower Market, where the colour and noise of the city are at their most unguarded. There's space along the way for gallery visits, independent boutiques, or simply following a street that looks worth following.
En route to lunch, the Company's Garden marks the midpoint: a long green corridor through the heart of the city that connects Cape Town's colonial past to its present and is framed by some of its most important museums and monuments. After a visit to Cape Town’s favourite chocolate cafè, famous for its hot chocolate and truffles, head up towards the iconic cobbled streets and brightly painted facades of the Bo-Kaap, deeply rooted in the Cape Malay community that tells a story no museum can quite capture. You'll explore it slowly, escaping the tourist crowds, with someone who knows it well.
The day ends with the option to linger over a cocktail back on Bree Street. From there, the evening is yours.
