We offer thoughtfully curated private day tours in Cape Town and the surrounding areas. Led by expert local guides, each experience blends insight, ease, and a touch of the unexpected. We focus on authentic moments, comfortable journeys, and a pace that lets you truly soak it all in.
We offer a more considered way to see the Cape. Private tours, expert local guides, no queuing at attractions, and comfortable transport. We believe in quality over quantity, and experiencing the Cape with ease and genuine local insight.
We like to keep things straightforward. The price includes your knowledgeable local guide, comfortable private transport, entrance fees to attractions mentioned in the itinerary, lunch (if specified) and often, a few extra treats along the way.
We specialise in private tours for small groups, typically between 2 and 7 people. Our luxury vans seat up to 7 guests comfortably. For larger groups, we’re happy to arrange an additional guide and vehicle so everyone travels in comfort.
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially if you have specific dates in mind, as our private tours can fill up. However, it's always worth checking for last-minute availability.
If you cancel up to 72 hours before your tour, you will receive a 95% refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours of departure are non-refundable.
Date changes may be possible, but are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Let us know as soon as you can and we’ll do our best to make it work.
We believe the journey is part of the experience, so we have a fleet of the latest luxury VW T6 Transporters that are perfectly suited for exploring the Cape in style. Each vehicle comes equipped with onboard WiFi, a fridge stocked with refreshments, and other thoughtful touches to ensure a smooth ride.
Local Lynx carries comprehensive passenger liability and general liability insurance.
Comfortable shoes and your camera are always a good idea. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential for the Cape's sunshine. Layers are also recommended, as the weather can change throughout the day. And don't forget your swimming costume and towel if the weather is nice.
It depends on the specific tour. Some tours include lunch, while others might include a tasting or snack. We'll clearly outline what's included in the itinerary for each tour. Your guide will also have great recommendations for lunch spots if it's not included.
All of our guides are fluent in English.
We showcase the highlights, of course, but we also like to weave in experiences that offer a deeper connection to the region. Think local insights, great food spots, and a story or two you won't find in the usual guides.
Like any major city, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings. Our guides are locals who know the city well, and we prioritise your safety on our tours so you can relax and enjoy the experience.
Our tours cover the iconic landmarks like Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope. But we also aim to provide context and a deeper understanding of these places, often with local perspectives you won't get elsewhere.
Absolutely! The Cape Winelands, including the beautiful regions of Simonsberg and Stellenbosch, are a highlight. We offer tours that explore the stunning scenery and exceptional wine estates of this area.
Our focus is on single-day tours that allow you to experience specific regions or attractions in depth. However, you’re more than welcome to book multiple one-day tours to different regions.
No, Local Lynx tours have a fixed itinerary. If you’re looking for fully bespoke, multi-day travel, you can get in touch with our sister company, African Lynx, who specialise in tailored journeys across the Cape and beyond.
